MY STORY…
<SELF-PROCLAIMED WEIRDO, TRADITIONAL ARTIST OBSESSED WITH BRIGHT COLORS AND CREATING THEIR OWN WHIMSY WORLD>
I love using color and bold lines to bring my imagination to life!
My dynamic style is largely influenced by the world around me. Be it blurbs from pop culture, imagery drummed up by memories or an attempt to visually explain what I am feeling inside.
I enjoy playing around with different techniques and letting the inner child find joy in the create process; sometimes working towards a specific end design and sometimes simply for the pleasure of creating.
I’ve always been a visual thinker: pictures and imagery related to experiences, sense and memories more so than coherent worded thoughts and verbal ideas. Not only is art a way for me to tell stories and get those images out, it allows me an outlet to play and figure my way through things.
I decided to go public with my art in 2020, right before COVID hit. I was struggling with mental health and kept feeling the push to pursue something that has always come naturally to me, with the blessing and support of my amazing husband and family.
On this journey, I have learned a lot about myself and how to dig the person out that I have slowly boxed up over the years. Finding the connection I thought I had lost long ago, I discovered that we each have beautiful gifts to bring to the world and I KNEW I wanted to help other’s find their shine along the way!
Not only is Kpheck Studios my artsy fartsy brainchild, it has been a source of sanctuary and personal cultivation. Often, I have felt out of place and have learned not to fit myself into tables not meant for me, but to create my own with plenty of seating for others. My goal is to share that with the community through workshops, community create events, classes, artsy hangs and more!
Ooh, what are Artsy Hangs?
Glad you asked! Recently I have been able to partner with Roots Hydroponics in Moorhead MN and we have doodle nights planned every second Tuesday of the month from 6-9pm starting August 6th, 2024. Free to the public! Check out my facebook page for more info on gatherings.
